Thanks Holly. I have always been a fan and it is great to see how you have been advocating for autism. I have been an autism educator for over 12 years and I really see a need for more qualisty educators in the field. That is why I created my website to provide free info and training for teachers and parents.

I am a huge fan of Holly as well. I wish her well, with her family and her son. Has she teamed up with Jenny McCarthy? I would love to see them work together in that arena.

TRICIA- I take it you don't have much education from the way you write, and also if you knew anything about Autism you would know it has nothing to do with the color of ones skin but that it does strike boys more than girls. Most times these kids are misdiagnost anyway because they may simply have sensory issues. The "black boy", as you put it was not in a familiar surrounding nor did he see any familiar faces and when that happenes, whether or not he's Autistic or has sensory issues will respond in that fashion. The "white kids" that you saw, trust me, they had a familiar face around them and thats why they, to you seemed so full of life and talkative but I bet they never looked you in the eye did they? NO. So next time you wanna post be sure your facts are correct and don't make Autism out to be something so racist!

Thanks Holly foe being an Activist! I'm a single Mom of an autistic 7 years old boy. In the beginning it wasnt easy...it's getting better.
I read some of the comments and some of you don't know what you're talking about. Part of your so call research should come from an educated parent of an autistic child. Everything you read on the internet about autism is not true!

I HAVE AN AUTISTIC SON AGE 20. THANK GOD FOR WHAT YOU ARE DOING. MOST PEOPLE IN THE AFRICAN-AMERICAN COMMUNITY DO NOT TALK ABOUT IT. NO ONE TRULY UNDERSTANDS WHAT DAY TO DAY LIFE IS ABOUT. IF YOUR CHILD GETS ON YOUR NERVES SOMETIMES "THANK GOD" FOR IT. IMAGINE NOT HAVING A CONVERSATION WITH SOMEONE FROM AGE TWO TO ADULTHOOD. NOT BEING ABLE TO GO TO CHURCH REGULARLY, HELPING WITH SHOWERS, WATCHING STRANGERS LAUGH AT THE CHILD YOU LOVE DEARLY.. RELATIVES WHO NOW IGNORE YOU AND YOUR CHILD. THEN YOU ONLY HAVE JUST AN EXTREMELY SMALL SAMPLE OF THE LIFE OF PARENTS OF CHILDREN WITH DISABILITIES. PLEASE PRAY FOR ALL OF US PARENTS AND OUR CHILDREN..GOD IS "STILL" ABLE. GOD BLESS YOU ALL.
