I couldn't agree with you more. I live with autism everyday. Besides the fact that I work with other kids that have special needs, I sometimes feel as a parent of an austsic child no one knows what we have to deal with. People asked me why aren't u going to church like u used too? I'm like duh... my first ministry should be my kid. Certanly can't have him in public with people casting judgement on him for being himself.

I totally agree with you. I have a three and a half year old son who we suspect has autism. We are going through the process of getting him diagnosed. It is not easy, not easy at all. People just don't understand.

My youngest and only son was a very bright toddler. At the age of 11 months he was already talking in whole sentences, not just baby talk. ask him a question and he could reply like a 2 year old. then, when he was 13 months old, it was time for his vacination. Bad situation. By the time he turned 13 months he could no longer talk in "adult" language, and could just barely say "mama", or "dada". What happened to my child? Was it the vacination? I don't know. All I know that my son could not speak cohorently and now was considered a special needs child. After years of special education, he was able to transfer to regular classes at the age of 15 years old. Now, you would'nt believe he had any language problems at all. I am fortunate. He is employed as a train operator and bus driver in a metro area. I can only speak for myself, but considerating all things, if given the chance to do it all again, I would think long and hard about giving him that 13 month vacination shot again.
