Your Daily Affirmation for August 3, 2009

Despite any appearances to the contrary, your potential for fulfillment, joy, prosperity and overcoming is immeasurably great. It always was and always will be. The potential lies deep within you as a gift of God waiting to be activated by your imagination, intention, faith and action.

Welcome to AOL Black Voices' Daily Affirmations by Barry Johnson. As positive, inspiring and instructive words, these Affirmations are intended to support you in Realizing your Inherent Self-Excellence (R.I.S.E.) and awakening to the unlimited power and potential that the Creator has put in you and in this magnificent world.

Five days a week I will post a new affirmation to support you on your life journey. At least once a week I will post a longer blog entry to explore the deeper significance and application of a particular affirmation.

Why practice daily affirmations at all? Here's why:

The word Affirmation is commonly used to mean 'a positive statement', but an affirmation is much more than that. It is a faith-filled, inspiring expression of Truth. In essence it is a prayer. The affirmation at the top of this blog is a spiritual truth. Practicing affirmations daily conditions you to have a positive state of mind.

A positive state of mind aligns you with God--it generates good feelings, clear visions, optimism, boldness, and leads you to constructive activities and responses to life. Then positive outcomes flow to you, and through you, by this simple equation:

Positive State of Mind, plus Positive Living, plus Time, equals Positive Experiences.

When you consistently practice daily affirmations, there is essentially nothing you cannot do, be or have. You will even navigate life's challenges with greater ease.

Look around you and you will find many examples of people--famous and not-- who successfully practice affirmative living. For an example, consider sisters Erica and Tina Campbell of the two-time Grammy award winning duo Mary, Mary. If you haven't already, check out the lyrics to their hit song, "God In Me". From all indications, they are living affirmatively and enjoying the benefits. That's what this is all about!

So join me and the AOL Black Voices community in affirming Good in your life and in the world.

Wishing you peace, joy, health, wisdom, love, acceptance and all manner of prosperity.
