Atlanta didn't earn its nickname because of its climate. Hotlanta rates as one of the top sexually satisfied states in the nation, just ahead of New York City and H-town.
But there appears to be a sex drought in some of the 10 largest cities in the nation, namely Boston, San Francisco and Philadelphia, according to the findings of a survey released recently by the makers of Trojan Brand Condoms.
Residents of Atlanta rate their satisfaction at 73 percent, New Yorkers at 71 percent and Houston residents at 70 percent, according to the survey. Pulling up the rear are San Francisco, which comes at 63 percent; Philadelphia at 64 percent; and Boston at 60 percent -- the lowest of 10 cities surveyed.
H-towners also get busy more often than residents of other cities -- about 101 times per year. Compare that to 60 times per year in San Francisco, the lowest of 10 cities surveyed.
Commissioned by Trojan through StrategyOne to measure sexual frequency and satisfaction, the study found overall sexual fulfillment to be low, with 21 percent saying they are ''extremely satisfied'' and 30 percent saying they are generally ''dissatisfied.''
Indeed, 62 percent of Americans say they wish they were having sex more often. And, of course, men --73 percent-- would like to have sex more, compared with 53 percent of women.
StrategyOne, a market research and strategic communications agency in New York City, conducted the online survey for Trojan. The sample study included 1,000 men and women 18 and older. The results are nationally representative of the U.S. and have a margin of error of +/- 3.1 percent at a 95 percent confidence level. A total of 150 surveys were also conducted online among adults 18 and older in each of the 10 largest cities. For each city, the results are representative of age, education and ethnicity with a margin of error of +/- 8 percent.

As long as you want to wait. Until you are ready. If he's still around that will tell you what you need to know.

With the arlarming rate of new HIV infections among African Americans, I believe sex should be the last thing anybody should be thinking about or having. This survey serves only to further spread the disease. DE-NIAL is not only river

sexually satisfied will include same sex relationships, so the top rated condoms used does not mean best heterosexual cities.

Everyone wants and thinks about sex. STD have been around a long times does that stop pueberty or sexual desire no. Get real people. God gave us the desire it's our reponsibility to use it the right way. But to say no one should be thinking about it because of AIDS/HIV is ridiculous. It's about of Manslow's Hierarchy of need remember.

I live in Atlanta and I thank God I am in a faithful relationship with a man from New York. I am very grateful he moved here to be with me.
I am shocked that Atlanta is number one. There are so many frustrated single women here because alot of the men are on the downlow or gay.
Also, there is more to life than just sex. Every song on the radio has to do with sexing someone. After a while it just seems ignorant. When do you get over it. There is something more to the other sex than sex.

I agree with some of the things everyone is saying, but moreso with the last comment about there being more to life, but the topic of sex should be addressed by adults as a community because we do think about it quite a bit. It may feel like it was given to us by God, but I can't tell if God was mad or not when we discovered it??? (I don't know about Manslow, but check out the Book of Genesis).
The article just states their findings, but with no real definition of who is having sex and whether it's monogomous or not. Right now I tend to think sex is supposed to be for making babies only! Be sure you can afford to do it. And I never found humping up and down with a condom on to be fun. Even in a relationship, just doing it to be doing it gets boring. Then you have these couples who think swinging will spice things up! Then it gets even more ridiculous and ignorant. I agree, it's just too much and we have a lot of talking to do.

Sex is so overated. Yes it is human nature. But sheesh. I wonder whats the age group? I am in my 40's. With AIDS on the rise, do people still "bed hop" like they used to? I would kind of think the younger generation are so not into that. Many are more saavy and health conscious, and into their careers. I am sure THE BOOTY CALLERS ARE STILL THERE. I may be blind, these stats are alarming. I lived in the ATL, and its not all cracked up what people think it is. I agree with one previous blogger, people need to get over themselves and this "sex craze", but I guess it will be there for these type of stats if they exactally true.
