Will a Big Behind Help You Live Longer?

Sing it, Sir-Mix-A-Lot! The black community has long considered ample hips and behinds to be desirable features in women. Now, some members of the medical community are following suit. According to a recent Oxford University study, women with pear-shaped figures (larger hips, butts and thighs) are at a lower risk for heart disease and other metabolic diseases.

Oxford's Dr. Konstantinos Manopolous told BBC News that fat in the hips and butt absorbs "harmful fatty acids" and prevents arteries from clogging."

Take note: the "spare tire" around the middle is still not good.

"Fat around the hips and thighs is good for you," Manopolous said "but around the tummy is bad."
