According to a study, black women who use chemicals in their hair and then braid or weave it are subject to permanent hair loss. After having 326 black women fill out a questionnaire, it was revealed that almost all of the women had relaxers and 1 in 6 of the women had scarring hair loss or what dermatologists call "central centrifugal cicatricial alopecia."
According to MSNBC.com:
"More than half the women with this condition said they had braids, weaves or hair extensions, as compared to only a third of those with less severe hair loss."
This balding has only been seen in black women and is thought to be caused by prolonged pulling of the hair strands, causing inflammation of the hair follicle. Once the balding begins, it starts at the top of the head and then spreads throughout.
The women most likely to have this form of alopecia also have three things in common:
"Reseachers found that women with scarring hair loss were also more likely to have type 2 diabetes, to braid or weave their hair tightly, and to have bacterial scalp infections."
Scarring hair loss first came to attention during the 1960s and was thought to be caused by hot combs. Little research, though, was done to confirm this theory.
Dr. Angela Kyei, who worked on the study that was published in the Archives of Dermatology, had this advice:
"This is just telling us there is a trend and we need to study it further. If there is any take-home message from this study, it is that hair grooming is not the only thing you should look at in these patients," Kyei noted. "If you have hair loss - specifically if you have the central type of hair loss, which is permanent - you need to seek medical attention."

Most white women are inherently more attractive than black women. Now there are some outliers (there are a number of ugly white women, and a small number of attractive black women) but for the most part white women are just more appealing to the general populace in this country.

Blake, white women are more attractive to lots of men because they will lick, suck or phuck anything that's attached to a man, or woman's body. They are nasty. That alone will attract any man. Don't even think that it is anything more than that

Blake and Eric, I could easily say that white men are inherently more intelligent and capable providers than black men. I see countless examples daily that support this opinion, but no one's seems to go there. It's all about WE don't measure up YOU may prefer a different look. I don't care what you think or want, the only opinion that matters is how we feel about ourselves. Stop trying to convince us of our "inferiority". There are no men more inferior than black men. You men did not protect our land, food, resources, mothers, children from centuries of destruction and take over. Work those muscles in the gym dudes, because you know damn well that's all you've got.

@ Blake First of all, White woman are the least attractive woman in the world, since the time of The Egyptians & on back in through out History, WE as Black people have been empowered with Divine spiritual enlightenment, Wisdom, Knowledge, academics & Beauty. When Mr.whitey Barbarian came from Rome ( plato/socrates) conquered the Egytptians stealing land & priceless knowledge re-duplicating it for his own benefits thats when there was a shift. I could expand and go deeper but I will shorten it up by reminding you of the reason WE as a people are mixed up today...because whitey Knew Colored woman are the most Beautiful Woman in the world! He has alwayz Loved them! thats why he had his flat back blondie in the house and was out in the shack gettin some of that good lovin from a curvy chocolate sista reproducing bi-racial children so on and so forth, not just her BUT the Indians, mexicans, asian etc. as well, you see it in the History books famous white men who alwayz had a colored lover on the side that he was madly in Love with but had to keep it private do to the racial politics of the day... If our woman would have had the ammenaties to sit in the house all day grooming & primping themselves Vs. being out in the fields working pickin cotton all day, we would have been Out-doing them in looks & style publicly as we do NOW." dont get it twisted all these white girls/guys wanna be black they love our swagg & Hip Hop/R&B etc. and have embraced the african american culture immensely!

Your entire premise makes absolutely no sense! If, as you say BW are so beautiful, then why are BW trying to emulate WW on just about everything today? You're just another typical ignorant BW that's continually trying to claim, and assert that BW are as beautiful as non-black women, but your argument is a as usual a failed one, and everybody knows that reality ...well everyone except BW who remain in their sad little world of denial! So, me anywhere in history where WW wanted to be like BW? A curvy BW? You must mean as usual the typical "FAT" BW....of which 80.3% of all BW today are either overweight, or obese!

Awesome, you go, well written. I say to all beautiful black women...embrace your blackness/beauty. I don't care how much injustice a black woman receives or how disrespected she is from other cultures. There is nothing like the beauty of a black womman. She still shines!!!!
