I congradulate you Clinesha for your improvement of YOUR life but when you say "WE" don't need to stop welfare. Who are you talking about? You do relalize that most of the people receiveing assistance are not involved in the political system so the decissions that affect their lives as far as that(the assistance) goes are not in their hands. Since we(the American people) thought that just getting a Obama in the Oval Office was the end of everything and we let those republican and tea party idoits get in most people that are receiving any kind of pubic assistance are now as they say UP THE CREEK WITHOUT A PADDLE. That's way folks at the bottom of the economic ladder need to learn that they need to get they butts out and vote in ALL the elections. Especailly the MID-TERMS. Now I know yall know this is THE REAL CLARKE. PEACE.

Oh, they're still out there, but have discovered that the boards no longer exist! Which personally to me is the best thing that's ever happened to BV's! Now, we don't have to read the usual Black BS, and nonsense! Nor, also have to be subjected to those moderators that were nothing but a bunch of bitter, angry black women that were in denial, and closed minded. I hope that black people have "finally" learned that BV's doesn't belong to them! It's all about ownership, not one's skin color!

Personally, I think that physically abled welfare recipients with school aged children and those without kids should be required to work at least part time within their communites. Think of how clean all the streets and neighborhoods would be!

Welfare should be on case by case bases not just because you're poor or you fit the income requirements. Welfare has become an enabler of ignorance. Welfare is treated like a one legged pony.
Statistically blacks have more children while on welfare and they're least likely to uproot themself from welfare.

At the bottom of the article, there is a link written "Read more here". Why don't you do that and be enlightened. In 2010, blacks made up 39% of the welfare population, while WHITES made up 38%. So how in the hell are blacks the face of welfare.
Why don't you take your angry ass to another site; bashing black women. I don't know what race you are, but there is still 23% of welfare recipients unaccounted for and I'm sure your race falls in it.
There is nothing wrong with giving back to the community in return for welfare. Yes welfare is flawed, but the fact that there were 10 million less on welfare in 2010 than there was in 1995 means that some change/progess is happening.

Hispanic 15.7
Asian 2.4

To respond to your question: Black people do, and continue to "be the face of welfare" in this country, because there are so many of them on the welfare! True, I agree there are lots of white people on welfare also. But, the major difference is that the population of blacks are only 13% of the US population, and are sucking up almost 40% of the resources! Now, to appreciate that better... in contrast there are "four times" as many white people than there are black people in this country! "Yes...four times!" And, they're not sucking up as much as black people are. But, the point is that, if you have more, then you expect more, not have less, and get more! Now, let's take a look at Hispanics in the US. They, also outnumber black people as well! But, here we go yet again! There are less of them on welfare! So, one needs to ask over, and over again...why? So, you have both whites, and Hispanics as groups that have greater populations, and outnumber blacks, but blacks continue to absorb greater resources for all individual groups. The big question remains why are only "13%" (one group of the population) continuing to suck up "39.8%" of the resources? That's, the question that you should be addressing!
