From Clutch:
We've all seen her - the young black girl at the bus stop with a couple kids at her heels, one in a stroller, and another on the way. We want to know why she keeps having kids she can't afford.
If I leave the office on my lunch break, I'm apt to see all kinds of people roaming the streets. It's the middle of the day, why aren't you at work? I wonder.

Thanks for the correction. I appreciate your research. So to quote you, the solution is for black women on welfare to stop having unwanted & unloved OOW babies out of wedlock, knowing they can't feed nor provide a decent life for their children. Yes?
Well I will pass that message on to every black welfare female I can and you do the same with the white women that are having unwanted & unloved OOW babies out of wedlock, knowing that they can not feed nor provide a decent life for their bastard babies.
You straighten out the deadbeats of your race, and I'll do the same. OK? And make sure to tell those of your race that giving back to the community is NOT an option and that they need to get their lazy ass off of welfare, period!

First, off you're welcome! Yes, in my opinion as you also stated the major part of the problem continues to be BW having OOW babies at over a rate of 70%...which frankly is "way over the top". That's, far more than all other races of women in the US today. That's a fact! You, and I agree also on "why" have babies when you already know full well that you can't feed, nor provide for them, so that makes no sense, and is just irresponsible behavior. That's, why the welfare numbers continue to increase. Welfare was designed to be a "safety net" to help those that ran into hard times, not be a career! What, that leads to is predictable "poverty", and crime! Because, these children need to be in a "family" setting with both parents, and not just a single parent home. That's, what's destroying black families, and the black community today. And, poverty creates a lower class of people that generally "don't" embrace educational opportunities...but in all fairness that because in the overwhelming majority of BW having these OOW babies themselves didn't themselves embrace education as well. Then, it becomes what it has "unfortunately", and continues to develop into today...that's a "cyclical" generational process, which continues a downward trend. We've witnessed that process here in this country already now for three generations! BW need to embrace safe sex practices, and mandate that the men they have intimate relations with use condoms. Most sadly don't...still! And, BW need to also know that they also make condoms for women, so it's not always on the men it's on both! That way it'll address the continuing high pregnancy rate in the black community, and also curtail..."hopefully" the continuing spread of HIV/AIDS, and STD's which both are at epidemic proportions today for the black community. African Americans sadly are only "13%" of the US population, but are responsible for "51%" of all the reported cases in the US. BW are the highest risk group, and continue to be the highest risk group for all races of women, and also both genders in the US with "67%" of all reported HIV/AIDS cases. Two out of every three cases for women with HIV/AIDS are BW!
This is why it's so important to practice safe sex, and also get tested! Many don't, and won't get tested, because many already know that they're HIV positive. Sad, but true! This, isn't about hate, or bashing BW as some claim...this is about facts, perpetual denial, and about the real truth. Straighten out my race? I have no idea as to what you're talking about. If, you're implying that I'm non-black then you're wrong! Stop making the usual assumptions.

....Clinesha never mind eric he is a white man masquerading as a black man.....what the misleading statistics don't configure in is that yes we are 13% of the populace.....but 60% of incarcerated prisoners are black meaning convicted felons returning to mainstream cannot get jobs once their out!...also the unemployment rate for blacks are 2 to 3 times that of whites...so of course we are going to have a higher number percentage wise of welfare recipients...out of all the ethnic groups mentioned in his statement...who has been discriminated against the most when it comes to employment and sentencing by the courts?....FDR died before his dream of having the constitution be re-written to include all persons in this country which would have allowed an equal opportunistic means that everyone would prosper from....there isn't and has never been a level playing field for minorities in this country!

Assumptions? I recall saying that I didn't know what your race was. IF it's Black, then you are self loathing!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm not angry. I'm just using your overly used exclamation points.
You are so judgmental. I've overcome my mistakes along with plenty of others, hence the decline in welfare recipients from 1995 to 2010.
Did you know that today a Bachelors degree is equivalent to a high school diploma from 50 years ago and a Masters is equivalent to a Bachelors. Education on a whole is on a dismal decline. I guess you want blame "BW" for that too.
I find no pride in seeing people over using or abusing the system, but understanding of their upbringing and compassion is what is needed; not your iron fisted rants. I choose to use that kindness and understanding when I look at people in those circumstances because, whether they are aware of it or not, it is a sad situation to be in.
But, you go ahead and be a self-rightous rat bastard. My people will get it right one day. I have faith in US.

Yes, assumptions! Your words:
You straighten out the deadbeats of your race, and I'll do the same. OK? And make sure to tell those of your race that giving back to the community is NOT an option and that they need to get their lazy ass off of welfare, period!
That's, in fact is a very broad based assumption. because it's crystal clear that you're saying that I'm not black! Duh! Perhaps, you suffer from "short term memory", or perhaps you're simply "dyslexic". I'll let you choose which best applies.
No, I'm not judgmental at all! I just deal with the real core facts of which you obviously have taken issue with. Neverthless, your personal bias that doesn't change the factual elements. I have absolutely no knowledge of what your shortcoming may, or may not be...and frankly I'm really not interested! Perhaps, you forgot "again" that the topic being discussed is welfare. Not, your personal life's issues.
Perhaps, your degree is worth less, but my MBA is actually worth more today then it ever was! Nor, do I have any issues whatsoever as it relates to employment, or potential opportunities wherein. So, again you need to conduct better personal research, and cease in your continual generalizations, and the usual whinnying.
I don't blame BW for anything. However, I do make point out their continuing failure to accept hearing the truths... especially about themselves, their attitudes, their complicity, lack of personal responsibility, and their perpetual denial. Oh, and their all too eagerness, and willingness to always attempt to portray themselves as being the victims!
In, the majority of cases individuals abuse the system, because their mothers did the very same. Where in lies the core problem! As, a direct result that very same mentality is passed on to the next generation, who sanctions, and encourages that very same behavior so it becomes a de facto "learned behavior". You, should be asking why parents aren't teaching their children something more productive life skills, or something more value added other than just having OOW babies? In, most cases the parents aren't knowledgeable themselves, because they're also products of the very same welfare system. Again, it's a generational process. That being the case then again, one would hope that they would want something better for their children then they had for themselves. But, that's not what's being transmitted across generational lines. So, who's fault is that? Society's...again? So, then at the end of the day society as a whole has to assume both roles as parent, and caregiver to those who have made the "choice" to be irresponsible, and have OOW babies? Sorry, I don't think so. Where's, the personal responsibility? Where's, the parental guidance? The welfare system has all but destroyed the black family, but ultimately "who" choose to embrace it? Black women did, and continue to. Nobody, put a gun to their heads to exercise that reality. Well, let's hope that black people eventually get it right someday, but that day isn't anywhere on the near horizon. Perhaps, you need to try taking a better, and also a more objective, and subjective view at the African American community today and what's really going on, because it's going in the wrong direction.
Lastly, your immature name calling is a prime indicator as to why black folks aren't progressing. Stop, hating yourself then perhaps...just maybe you'll begin to see the light of day.

Re-read ERIC:
My words:
"Why don't you take your angry ass to another site; bashing black women. I don't know what race you are, but there is still 23% of welfare recipients unaccounted for and I'm sure your race flls in it."
I specically said I DON'T KNOW WHAT RACE YOU ARE..., I doubt it's black, which I also said. So it would seem that the short term memory loss is yours. Some, such as yourself, are so "smart" that you are actually stupid and don't READ. I mentioned my personal experiences because of it's relevance to the article. I was once in that system but emerged victorious. Others have and WILL do the same.
Fact: Someone with lung cancer from years of smoking does not need to be bashed for their actions, but helped and shown understanding. Where's your compassion? You only have facts and finger pointing. Maybe your flaws don't cost the taxpayers money, but I'm sure you have some disgusting and hatful skeletons in your own closet.
And in regards to name calling: You Sir are an A**hole. There, I did it again.

I'm just curious to see how people regard our welfare system and whether it should be regarded as a success or failure.

Mass castration for black men who don't support their children and sterilization for females who keep having babies and who must be supported by the government.

First, BW are the highest risk gropu in the US today, for all races of women and both genders. and, the highest for std's as well. because most fail to practice safe sex, but are in denial about that reality! Also "50%" all BW that unfortunately contract HIV/AIDS, and die as a result that's directly as a result of intravenous drug usuage. What people here should, and need to ask is why are all these BW drug addicts?
