Michelle Obama and Desmond Tutu demonstrate push ups

Don't think Michelle Obama's trip to South Africa with her daughters Sasha and Malia meant taking a break from sharing her passion for health and fitness. Yesterday, while meeting with dozens of South African kids at the new Cape Town Stadium, Michelle imparted these words of wisdom: "It's hard to have an impact if you're not in the best condition possible."

To prove her point, she got Archbishop Desmond Tutu to do a little flexing of his own for the young crowd.

You know you're a big deal when you can get historic icons to drop and give you twenty. Go 'head, Michelle!

Our sisters over at That's Fit have done it again with another inspiring story of weight loss. Meet Tony Singleton, who started his journey at a startling 354 pounds. Here's what he had to say about his wake up call:

In February 2009, after a disagreement of sorts, I didn't feel good. Something was very, very wrong. I had my blood pressure checked at a fire station -- it was 260/150. They almost took me to the hospital. I was 354 pounds with a waist at 46. My shirts were 3XL.

I was eating at McDonald's, Burger King, Wendy's, KFC -- and I never met a rack of ribs I didn't like. I ate pizza by the pie. Every meal was "value sized" with a dessert.

Check out his amazing story and see how Tony looks now @ That's Fit.

Comedian Sonya D, recently, shared her inspiring story with That's Fit, our sister site from the AOL family. After being overweight all her life and not taking it seriously, Sony had a scary wake up call at 2 am while on tour. Nearly 80lbs later, Sonya shares her story of weight loss and triumph:

I'll never forget that night -- it was about 2:20 a.m. and guess who I saw on TV? Me! I was eating three Chalupas from Taco Bell and I had to put my food down to really look at myself. The crowd was laughing, but I wasn't -- I looked like I weighed 300 pounds. Sure, the TV adds 10 pounds, but I was so heavy I think I saw smoke coming from my thighs where they were rubbing together.

For the first time in my life, I was disgusted with myself and at that very moment, I decided I needed to do something about my weight. When I arrived back into Chicago, I went straight home and dumped everything from my refrigerator and cabinets. I made up my mind: Food is not going to kill me.

Caroline JhingoryThat's Fit, our sister site from the AOL family, posted the amazingly inspiring story of Caroline Jhingory. This DC native took control of her life and lost 140 pounds in the process. Here's what she has to say about her what made her make that change:

"I was sick of wearing girdles to fit into certain outfits and sick of being the girl that guys never acknowledged. I had not worn a bathing suit since I was nine years old, I was never able to ride a roller coaster because the safety bar did not fit over my stomach, and I did not have my first boyfriend until graduate school. Being obese had caused me to miss out on enjoying simple things in life."
